And it is precisely by making a volume that I met the Romanesque Crucifix<\/strong> of Abbadia San Salvatore<\/a>, falling in love with it. It was 2008 and I edited the series of the “Quaderni della Soprintendenza di Siena and Grosseto”, publishing restorations and new critical visions of the artistic heritage.<\/p>\n

Already in the drafting phase, the photographic material of the Crucifix, before and after the restoration, struck me for its enigmatic beauty, but it was only when I went to Abbadia, in the Abbey of San Salvatore<\/a>, that I immediately became completely fascinated. .<\/p>\n

I perfectly remember the twilight, the majestic staircase to get to find this monumental wooden sculpture in front of me, a triumphant Christ who looks at you, questioning you, not bent by death or suffering, but alive, proud, implacable. An invincible Christ, that Christ the Tiger<\/em> whose coming marks the poem Gerontion by T.S. Eliot (… in the adolescence of the year Christ the tiger came …). A sculpture that I often think back to, in moments of difficulty, regardless of religious beliefs and meanings, precisely because of its powerful and extraordinary symbolic value: the victory of light over darkness and death.<\/p>\n

An extraordinary meeting for me, absolutely my ‘place of the heart<\/strong>‘ that I invite you to know, impossible to remain indifferent.<\/p>\n

Again in terms of sublime, even if more prosaic, as regards the recipe, I would return to Amiata without a shadow of a doubt for some extraordinary fresh pappardelle with mushrooms<\/strong> that, so good, can only be eaten there, and in which the smells and flavors of the woods and mountains.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]ali editoria & comunicazione srl<\/strong>
