On the first weekend of October, San Quirico d’Orcia hosts Arte e Artigianato 2026, an exhibition dedicated to fine craftsmanship and contemporary design in the historic rooms of Casa dell’Abate Naldi.
Exhibition and artisans
The event takes place on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October 2026, from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm, with free admission. The fourth edition brings together eighteen selected artisans, with a special focus on quality materials, formal research and the dialogue between traditional skills and contemporary languages.
Workshops, talk and concert
During the weekend, craft workshops are available by reservation, dedicated to botanical printing, ceramics, weaving and creative crochet work. On Saturday 3 October at 6.00 pm, the main hall on the noble floor hosts the talk “Beyond the screens: craftsmanship, culture and conviviality as opportunities for meeting in the digital age”. On Sunday 4 October at 6.30 pm, the exhibition closes with a concert and a convivial aperitif.
Why include it in a Val d’Orcia itinerary
Arte e Artigianato is an interesting opportunity for visitors exploring San Quirico d’Orcia in autumn and looking for an intimate cultural experience linked to manual skills, design and the town’s historic spaces. Casa dell’Abate Naldi is located in the historic centre, just a short walk from the Collegiata, Palazzo Chigi Zondadari and the Horti Leonini, so the exhibition can easily be combined with a walk among the town’s monuments, gardens and streets.
When: 3 and 4 October 2026, 11.00 am-6.00 pm
