From 11 to 13 September 2026, Abbadia San Salvatore hosts the first edition of Amiata Outdoor Festival, three days designed to celebrate the Amiata mountain area through sport, nature and culture.
The festival hub will be the former mining area, with the festival village set up in the square of the old drying sheds. The programme revolves around outdoor activities: trekking, mountain biking, orienteering, caving, archery and experiences linked to the trail network and the mining history of Mount Amiata.
The festival is the result of a collaboration between the Amiata Mines National Museum Park and local associations, with the participation of organisations such as Amiata Bike, CAI, Camminatori UISP, Orienteering Amiata and local sports groups. For anyone visiting Amiata in September, the event offers an active way to discover woods, trails, volcanic landscapes and places of memory.
