From 25 to 27 September 2026, Santa Fiora takes part in the National PleinAir Festival, an initiative promoted by PleinAir magazine together with the Touring Club Italiano’s Orange Flag Towns Association. For this Amiata village, it is an event designed for travellers with camper vans who enjoy discovering small towns, nature and local products at a slower pace.
The programme leads crews through the historic centre and some of Santa Fiora’s symbolic places. On Saturday 26 September at 4:00 p.m., participants meet in Piazza Garibaldi for a guided visit to Palazzo Sforza Cesarini, the Della Robbia works in the Parish Church of Sante Flora e Lucilla, the Church of Sant’Agostino and the most characteristic corners of the village. The visit ends with an aperitif featuring local products, organised by Pro Loco Santa Fiora.
On Sunday 27 September at 9:30 a.m., the visit continues towards the Galleria Alta and the spring of the Fiora river, with meeting point in Via Fonte Mannarina. The stay can also become an opportunity to visit the Monte Amiata Mercury Mining Museum and the Peschiera Park, two useful stops for understanding the link between Santa Fiora, water, mining history and landscape.
The National PleinAir Festival is reserved for registered participants and booking is required. For anyone planning a weekend on Mount Amiata, the event offers an organised and guided way to experience Santa Fiora through art, nature and local hospitality.
