On Saturday 17 October 2026, the medieval village of Vignoni Alto hosts Vignoni in Festa, an afternoon dedicated to the grape harvest, the end of the farming season and the flavours of the Val d’Orcia.
The event takes place at the Castle of Vignoni, in the municipality of San Quirico d’Orcia, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. For visitors exploring the area in autumn, it is a simple and authentic way to experience the rhythm of a small Tuscan village: local food, conviviality, traditional games and music in one of the most panoramic spots in the valley.
The Vignoni in Festa programme
The festival begins in the afternoon with food and wine stands and festive dishes: grilled specialities, pasta, pizza, traditional sweets, local wine, beer and cocktails. At 5:00 pm, traditional games are scheduled with accordion music, while at 6:00 pm the programme continues with a live music performance.
The theme of the day is the close of the farming season, with a direct reference to the grape harvest and to the rural traditions that have shaped life in the villages of the Val d’Orcia for generations.
How to get to Vignoni Alto
To protect the quiet atmosphere of the village and make access easier, the organisers recommend reaching Vignoni Alto on foot or using the shuttle service available from 2:30 pm. The shuttle leaves from San Quirico d’Orcia, from the parking area in zone F at Parco Carlo Sorbellini.
For visitors, Vignoni in Festa can be combined with a walk through the village, a stop in Bagno Vignoni or an itinerary through San Quirico d’Orcia, the surrounding hills and the landscapes of the Val d’Orcia.
