Until 31 August 2026, Castiglione d’Orcia is offering a special programme across its cultural sites, with extended openings and events designed to help visitors discover the village and the Val d’Orcia landscape at unusual times of day.
The Rocca Aldobrandesca is open every evening from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., in addition to its usual visiting hours, giving travellers the chance to enjoy views over the UNESCO-listed Val d’Orcia after sunset. At the Torre di Tentennano, the month includes exhibitions, initiatives and events linked to the promotion of the local area.
The Sala d’Arte San Giovanni is also part of the programme, with special openings and guided visits on August weekends, except on 15 August. The itinerary is well suited to visitors who want to combine villages, viewpoints and art heritage in a day between Castiglione d’Orcia, Rocca d’Orcia and Bagno Vignoni.
For travellers already in the area during the final days of August, the museum programme offers one more reason to stop in Castiglione d’Orcia, especially in the evening, when the village and the Rocca take on a different atmosphere from a daytime visit.
